Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name or location entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Elko County Recent Arrests does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s terms and privacy policy govern its handling of a query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the details needed to read and answer it. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine technical records may be created when a page loads. They can include:
- Your Internet Protocol address.
- Your browser type and version.
- Your device type and operating system.
- The pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The site that referred the visit, if one exists.
- The date and time of the request.
Cookie Use
Cookies help show how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or remove cookies, though blocking them may change how some features work.
How Information Is Used
Collected data supports the site’s day-to-day operation and the delivery of requested features.
- Keep pages available and performing well.
- Send search requests to the selected partner service.
- Measure which pages visitors find useful.
- Identify and correct technical faults.
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to Elko County jail resources, sheriff and corrections pages, booking sources, government portals, or outside search tools. Once you follow a link, that destination’s privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.
Advertising providers may measure activity across different websites to select targeted ads. That processing occurs on the provider’s systems, not as an Elko County government function.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Search providers that process a query you submit.
- Analytics vendors that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or assess ads.
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No internet-connected service is fully secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Ask that eligible data be erased.
- Opt out of certain forms of processing where that right applies.
